Prophet Adam

The First Human — Father of All People

☀️ 🌳 🌲 🌳 🌸 🦋 🐦

🌍 In the Beginning

Long, long ago — before you, before your parents, before anyone on Earth — there was nothing but the sky, the angels, and Allah. Allah decided to create something wonderful: a human being!

Allah told the angels, "I am going to place a vicegerent (a caretaker) on Earth." The angels were curious. They asked, "Will You place on it someone who will cause trouble and shed blood, while we praise and glorify You?"

Allah replied, "I know what you do not know." And so, Allah created the very first man — Adam — from clay and soil of the Earth.

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً

"And when your Lord said to the angels, 'I am going to place a vicegerent on Earth...'"

— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:30)

✨ The Special Gift — Knowledge!

Allah shaped Adam from clay and breathed life into him. Adam opened his eyes and saw the beautiful world around him. Then Allah gave Adam something truly special: the gift of knowledge and language.

Allah taught Adam the names of everything — every animal, every plant, every thing in creation. When Allah asked the angels to name these things, they couldn't! They said, "Glory be to You! We only know what You have taught us."

But Adam knew them all. This showed that humans were given a very special gift — the ability to learn, think, and understand. Allah then told the angels to bow down to Adam as a sign of respect for this great honour.

All the angels bowed — except one. Iblis (Shaytan) was proud and refused. He said, "I am better than him! You made me from fire and him from clay." This pride made Iblis an enemy of human beings forever.

وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا

"And He taught Adam the names of all things..."

— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:31)

💚 Hawwa — A Companion for Adam

Adam lived in Jannah (Paradise) — a perfect, beautiful garden with everything he needed. But Allah knew Adam needed a companion, so He created Hawwa (Eve), the first woman, to be Adam's wife.

Together, Adam and Hawwa lived happily in Jannah. They could eat from any tree they wished. But Allah warned them about one tree: "Do not go near this tree, or you will be of the wrongdoers."

Shaytan, who was jealous, whispered to them again and again. He tricked them into eating from the forbidden tree, promising it would give them eternal life. They made a mistake and ate from it.

Immediately, they felt sadness and regret. They called out to Allah: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will be among the losers." Allah is the Most Merciful — He forgave them and guided them. Then He sent them to Earth to live, to be tested, and to return to Him one day.

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers."

— Surah Al-A'raf (7:23)

🌱 Life on Earth

Adam and Hawwa came down to Earth. It was a big new world — different from the perfect garden of Jannah. But they were not alone. Allah guided them, taught them how to live, grow food, build homes, and worship Him.

Adam became the first prophet on Earth — the very first human to worship Allah and call others to goodness. He and Hawwa had many children, and from them came all the people of the world — including you and me!

This is why we call Adam "the Father of Humanity". Every single person alive today goes back to him. Isn't that amazing?

🌟 What We Learn from Adam's Story

💡

Knowledge is a gift from Allah. Adam was honoured because of his knowledge. We should always seek to learn!

🤲

When we make mistakes, we say sorry to Allah. Adam made a mistake but turned to Allah in repentance, and Allah forgave him.

😈

Beware of pride. Iblis refused to obey Allah because of arrogance. Pride is very dangerous!

💚

Allah is the Most Forgiving. No matter what we do wrong, if we are truly sorry, Allah always forgives us.
