Prophet Nuh & The Great Ark

The Messenger Who Never Gave Up

☁️ 🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️ 🚢 🌊 🕊️

📣 A Prophet Among His People

Many years after Prophet Adam, people slowly forgot about Allah. They started worshipping statues and idols made of wood and stone. They named their idols things like Wadd, Suwa, and Yaghuth. Allah saw this and sent a prophet to guide them — Prophet Nuh (Noah).

Nuh was a kind, patient, and very wise man. Allah asked him to call his people back to worshipping only Allah, the One True God. So Nuh began preaching, day and night, for years and years.

He said: "O my people! Worship Allah alone. There is no god worthy of worship except Him!"

"Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying]: 'Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.'"

— Surah Nuh (71:1)

😔 950 Years of Calling

Can you imagine preaching for 950 years? That's how long Nuh tried to guide his people! He called them in public, in private, during the day and at night. He used every way he could think of to help them understand.

But most people laughed at him. The powerful chiefs and rich people said, "You are nothing but a human like us! Only the poor and weak follow you. We think you are a liar!"

They would put their fingers in their ears so they wouldn't have to hear him. They covered their faces with their clothes and walked away. But Nuh never gave up. He kept calling them, with patience and hope, trusting in Allah.

In the end, only a small number of believers followed Nuh. Allah told him: "No more of your people will believe except those who have already believed."

🪵 Build the Ark!

Allah then gave Nuh an extraordinary command: "Build an ark (a giant boat)!" Nuh obeyed immediately and began building it — even though they lived far from the sea and there was no flood in sight!

The people who passed by laughed and mocked him. "Why are you building a boat in the middle of the land? Has Nuh gone crazy?" they teased. But Nuh simply replied: "If you mock us now, we will mock you one day just as you mock us."

Nuh kept building, following every instruction Allah gave him. He worked hard with his small group of believers, cutting wood and hammering planks together to make a huge, strong vessel.

وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا

"And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration..."

— Surah Hud (11:37)

🌊 Two by Two — The Animals Board!

When the ark was ready, Allah sent the command: "Load onto the ark a pair of every animal (male and female), your family, and those who have believed."

Imagine the scene — elephants and lions, giraffes and rabbits, birds of every colour, all making their way onto Nuh's great ark, two by two! Nuh guided them all aboard, along with the believers and his family.

Then the sky broke open with the most powerful rain anyone had ever seen. Water burst up from the ground too. Rivers overflowed. The flood rose and rose until it covered even the tallest mountains!

The ark sailed safely on the giant waves. Inside, Nuh and the believers were safe, rocking gently on the flood that covered the whole Earth.

🕊️ Land at Last!

After a long time, Allah commanded the sky to stop raining and the ground to swallow the water. Slowly, slowly, the flood went down. The ark came to rest on top of a mountain called Al-Judi.

Nuh sent out a dove to look for land. When it returned with a green leaf in its beak, Nuh knew the Earth was becoming green again! Finally, the waters went away and dry land appeared.

Nuh and all the believers stepped off the ark onto the clean, washed Earth. Allah blessed them and said: "O Nuh, descend with peace from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations from those with you."

From these survivors, the Earth was repopulated. Nuh is called the "Second Father of Humanity" because all humans alive today are descended from the people who rode on his ark!

قِيلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ

"It was said: 'O Noah, descend with peace from Us and blessings upon you...'"

— Surah Hud (11:48)

🌟 What We Learn from Nuh's Story

💪

Never give up. Nuh preached for 950 years without losing hope. We should never stop doing what is right, even if people laugh at us.

🙏

Obey Allah even when it seems strange. Nuh built a boat on dry land because Allah told him to. Trust always comes before understanding.

😂

Don't mock people who do good. Those who laughed at Nuh were the ones who were lost in the end.

🌈

After hardship comes relief. The flood ended, the sun shone, and Nuh was rewarded for his patience.
