Prophet Sulaiman

The Wisest King Who Ever Lived

🎁 A Very Special Wish

Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) was the son of Prophet Dawud (David). He was blessed from a young age with extraordinary wisdom. When he was still a boy, he solved a difficult dispute that even the elders couldn't figure out β€” and everyone was amazed!

When Sulaiman became king, Allah asked him: "What would you like Me to give you?" Sulaiman could have asked for gold, power, or long life β€” but instead he asked for something truly wise:

"My Lord! Forgive me and grant me a kingdom unlike any given to anyone after me. You are the Giver of Gifts!"

Allah was pleased with this humble and sincere request and gave Sulaiman the most extraordinary kingdom the world has ever seen β€” and much, much more.

"My Lord! Forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me..."

β€” Surah Sad (38:35)

🐜 Talking to Animals!

Allah gave Sulaiman one of the most amazing gifts imaginable: he could understand and speak the language of animals and birds! Every creature β€” from the mightiest eagle to the tiniest ant β€” could communicate with him.

One day, Sulaiman was marching with his great army of humans, jinn, and birds when they came near a valley of ants. A tiny ant shouted to all the other ants: "O ants! Go into your homes so Sulaiman and his armies do not crush you without even realising!"

Sulaiman heard this and smiled. He was touched that the little ant was protecting her community. He thanked Allah and said: "My Lord, inspire me to be grateful for Your blessing upon me and upon my parents, and to do good deeds that please You."

Imagine being able to talk to every animal! Would you talk to your cat, a dolphin, or an eagle first?

"And Solomon inherited David and said: 'O people! We have been taught the language of birds...'"

β€” Surah An-Naml (27:16)

πŸ¦… The Hoopoe Bird's Report

Sulaiman had a special bird called the Hudhud (Hoopoe) who was like his scout. One day, Sulaiman noticed the Hudhud was missing! He said: "Why do I not see the Hudhud? Has he gone without permission? I will punish him β€” unless he brings me a good reason!"

The Hudhud soon returned with extraordinary news: "I have discovered something you don't know! I come from the land of Saba (Sheba). It is ruled by a queen called Bilqis β€” a great queen with a magnificent throne. But she and her people worship the sun instead of Allah!"

Sulaiman wrote a letter in the name of Allah to Queen Bilqis, inviting her to submit to the one true God. He sent it with the Hudhud. The queen received the letter and was so impressed that she decided to visit Sulaiman herself, bringing magnificent gifts.

✨ The Throne and the Glass Floor

Before the queen arrived, Sulaiman asked his court: "Who can bring me her throne before she arrives?" One of the Jinn said he could bring it before the meeting ended. But a man who had knowledge of the Book said: "I can bring it to you in the blink of an eye!"

And just like that β€” the massive throne appeared before Sulaiman! He said: "This is from the grace of my Lord to test me β€” will I be grateful or ungrateful?"

When Queen Bilqis arrived, she was taken to a grand palace with a floor made of polished glass so clear it looked like water. She lifted her dress thinking it was a pond! Sulaiman smiled. Then she saw her throne β€” modified but recognisable.

The queen was overwhelmed. She declared: "My Lord! I have wronged myself, and I submit with Sulaiman to Allah, Lord of all the worlds!" She became a believer!

🌟 What We Learn from Sulaiman's Story

πŸ™

Wisdom is greater than wealth. Sulaiman asked for wisdom and a just kingdom β€” not gold. The best things to ask for are not material things.

🐜

Be kind to small creatures. Even a tiny ant's words moved Sulaiman's heart. Be kind to every living thing, no matter how small.

🀲

Always thank Allah for blessings. When Sulaiman was given incredible power, he said "This is from the grace of my Lord." Never forget to be grateful!

πŸ’Œ

Invite with kindness. Sulaiman invited the Queen to Islam with a letter β€” not with force or war. Kindness changes hearts.
